Vacancy Description
The Indian Air Force is inviting online applications from unmarried Indian male and female candidates for the selection test to join as Agniveervayu. This role is a distinct rank within the IAF, separate from Commissioned Officers, Pilots, or regular Airmen. While the initial engagement is for four years, it serves as a gateway for potential permanent enrollment in the regular cadre.

Eligibility Criteria: Are You Eligible?
1. Age Limit
Candidates must be born between 01 January 2006 and 01 July 2009 (both dates inclusive). If a candidate clears all selection stages, the upper age limit at the time of enrollment must not exceed 21 years.
2. Marital Status
Only unmarried candidates are eligible. Agniveervayu are not permitted to marry during their four-year tenure14. Female candidates must also undertake not to become pregnant during this period; doing so may lead to discharge from service.
3. Educational Qualification
Candidates can apply under two categories:

Science Subjects:
-
Must have passed Intermediate/10+2/Equivalent with Mathematics, Physics, and English with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.

OR A three-year Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Automobile, etc.) with 50% aggregate and 50% in English.

OR A two-year Vocational Course with Physics and Mathematics with 50% aggregate and 50% in English.

Other than Science Subjects:

Passed Intermediate/10+2/Equivalent in any stream with 50% aggregate and 50% in English.

Note: Exact percentages are considered; 49.99% will be treated as 49% and not rounded off.
Mandatory Medical & Physical Standards
Candidates must meet strict medical standards to be deemed fit for service:

Visual Standards: Vision should be 6/12 in each eye, correctable to 6/6. Candidates with a history of LASIK/PRK surgery are not acceptable.

Tattoos: Permanent body tattoos are generally not permitted, except on the inner face of the forearms and back of the hand, or tribal tattoos as per customs.
The Selection Process (Phase-wise)
Phase-I: Online Test
The online test is objective and bilingual (English & Hindi, except for the English paper).

Science Subjects: 60 minutes (Physics, Maths, English per 10+2 CBSE syllabus).

Other than Science: 45 minutes (English, Reasoning & General Awareness – RAGA).

Marking Scheme: 1 mark for correct answers, 0 marks for unattempt, and a penalty of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer.
Phase-II: Physical and Adaptability Tests
Shortlisted candidates from Phase-I will be called to an Airmen Selection Centre (ASC)

PFT-I: 1.6 Km run to be completed within 7 minutes (males) or 8 minutes (females).

PFT-II: Includes Push-ups, Sit-ups, and Squats with specific time limits.

Adaptability Tests: Objective tests to assess suitability for the military environment and geographic deployment.
Phase-III: Medical Examination
Comprehensive medical checks including blood tests, urine analysis, ECG, and X-rays.
Salary, Benefits, and Seva Nidhi
Agniveervayu will receive a monthly package with a fixed yearly increment:
