The Selection Process

The selection process consists of two major stages: a Written Competitive Examination and a Physical Efficiency Test (PET).

Stage 1: Written Examination

  • Level: 10th Class (Matriculation) standard.

  • Format: 100 objective-type questions.

  • Duration: 2 Hours.

  • Subjects: Hindi, English, Mathematics, Social Science, Science, General Knowledge, and Current Affairs.

  • Passing Marks: A minimum of 30% is required to qualify for the PET.

  • Note: The written exam is qualifying only and will not be used for the final merit list.

Stage 2: Physical Efficiency Test (PET) – 100 Marks

The final merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained in these three events:

  1. Running (50 Marks):

    • Men (1.6 km): Max 6 mins. Under 5 mins for full marks.

    • Women (1 km): Max 5 mins. Under 4 mins for full marks.

  2. Shot Put / Gola Phek (25 Marks):

    • Men: 16-pound ball. Minimum throw 16 feet.

    • Women: 12-pound ball. Minimum throw 12 feet.

  3. High Jump (25 Marks):

    • Men: Minimum 4 feet.

    • Women: Minimum 3 feet.
