Jharkhand Home Guard Corps (Jharkhand Grih Raksha Vahini), Sahibganj, has invited applications for the enrollment of Rural and Urban Home Guards under Advertisement No. 01/2025. This is a voluntary opportunity for candidates who are ready to serve the nation selflessly.

The Home Guard Corps is a voluntary organization. Home Guards are its volunteer members. It is not a salaried government job or a means of livelihood.

• Allowances are paid at a rate fixed by the government for the number of working days they are deployed for duty as per requirement.

• Applications are only expected from candidates who are willing to serve the nation selflessly.

🚺 Reservation for Women

• 50 percent of the total posts will be reserved for women in both categories (Rural/Urban Home Guard)

• 5 percent of the posts reserved for women will be reserved for qualified divorced/abandoned/widowed women.

  🛠️ Technical Posts for Urban Home Guards

• 50 percent of the vacancies for Urban Home Guards will be for technically skilled candidates.

• If suitable technical candidates are not found, these vacancies may be filled by non-technical candidates.

  • Technical Skills Areas: Doctor, Engineer, Advocate, Headmaster, Nurse, Computer Operator, Typist, Licensed Driver (H.M.V./L.M.V.), Cook, Carpenter, Cobbler, Washerman, Barber, Electrician, Gardener, Plumber, etc..

✅ Eligibility Criteria

Criteria	Rural Home Guard	Urban Home Guard
Residence	Permanent resident of that Block of Sahibganj district from where they apply.	Normal resident of the Urban Area of Sahibganj district.
Educational Qualification	Minimum 7th Pass.	Minimum Matriculation (10th) Pass.
Age Limit (as on 01.01.2025)	19 to 40 years (Date of Birth between 01.01.1985 and 31.12.2005).
Physical Standards (Same for both)	Male (General/OBC/BC): 162 cm Male (ST/SC): 157 cm Female (All): 148 cm)
Chest (Male Only)	General/OBC/BC: 79 cm ST/SC: 76 cm

🏃 Selection Process

The selection process includes the following tests:

1. Physical Efficiency Test

This includes a 01-mile run, high jump, long jump, and shot put, for which marks will be awarded.

Run (01 Mile)	5 minutes or before – 20 Marks	6 minutes or before – 20 Marks
High Jump	Minimum 4 feet – 5 Marks	Minimum 3.5 feet – 5 Marks
Long Jump	Minimum 12 feet – 5 Marks	Minimum 9 feet – 5 Marks
Shot Put	16 lbs – Minimum 16 feet	16 lbs – Minimum 12 feet

The standards for female candidates are different

2. Hindi Writing Ability Test (Qualifying)

• Candidates successful in the physical test must appear in this test

• Rural Guards: Writing ability check according to 7th class level

• Urban Guards: Writing ability check according to 10th class level

• Full marks will be 100, and the passing mark will be 30

3. Technical Efficiency Test (For Technically Skilled Urban Home Guards Only) (Qualifying)

• This will be conducted for candidates successful in the physical test and Hindi writing ability test

• Full marks will be 100, and the passing mark will be 30

🏅 Additional Marks (Sports)

Additional marks will be awarded to candidates who have been honored in National/State Level Sports:

🎓 Marks for Government Employees Based on Educational Qualification (For Urban Home Guard)

There is a limit of 10 percent of the total urban vacancies for the enrollment of government servants.

📝 How to Apply?

1. Applicants can submit their application ONLINE only on the website provided by JAP IT Ranchi, Jharkhand, https://recruitment.jharkhand.gov.in

2. Applications for Rural Home Guard and Urban Home Guard must be submitted separately

3. It is mandatory to completely fill in all the details asked in the online application form as per eligibility

4. Uploading a recent color passport-size photograph and signature is mandatory

5. It is mandatory to upload the details of any valid government ID proof (such as Aadhaar Card/Voter ID/PAN Card/Driving License)

6. It is mandatory to self-attest all certificates (residential, caste, educational, technical, sports, etc.) and upload them in the online application

7. Certificates submitted that are dated after the last date of online application will not be valid

8. Only one application form will be accepted from one applicant. If more than one application is found, the concerned applicant’s application will be automatically cancelled
